Well, here we go. A start of something new.

I’m creating Lancaster Assembly as a way to share the rabbit holes that I dive down. I love learning. I’m always curious. I have a tendancy of seeing something, and wanting to learn more about it. Not just surface level, but do a deep dive. That takes me to Wikipedia, Reddit, and countless blogs and websites and searching images and data bases. I consume anything that I can find.

But then what? Maybe I’d post something on social. Maybe I’d bore my wife with it. I wanted a way to share this to a wider audience that might think it is interesting.

The name of the site comes from a watch I built not too long ago. I wanted to make a custom watch, but I didn’t want it to have a blank dial. I live in Lancaster, which has a rich watch making history with the Hamilton Watch Company. So Lancaster pays homage to my home and it’s watch making past, while Assembly came from what I was doing. I wasn’t creating a watch, but I was assembling it from parts that I had sourced. When I thought about what I wanted to write about, Lancaster Assembly felt right. It will be an assembly of thoughts and knowledge that I hope others find interesting and helpful.

I plan to write historical pieces, dig into how things work, and talk about new products too.

So here we are. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.

Welcome to Lancaster Assembly.
